The Bonds between Christians that are centered on Christ likeness!

The New Testament repeatedly teaches that Christians are to be united. Paul addresses the problems of divisions, in 1 Corinthians 1:11 as it says, “For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 19 Now this I say that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I am of Apollos; and I am Cephas; and I am Christ.”

Verse 13 “Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius. 15 Lest anyone say that I had baptized in my own name. 16 And I also baptized the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not wisdom of my words, let the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God.”

Paul, as he often had to do, put the focus back where it belonged and that is on Jesus Christ and him being crucified for the salvation of all of humanity. He quickly reminds the church at Corinth that it is dangerous to develop clicks where men are following men rather than God. Gal 5:1 says, “But if you be lead of the Spirit, you are not under the law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and the lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

It is all pretty simple request from God and that is, if we all are being led by the Spirit of God, we’ll all be pulling in the same direction and if we’re not being led by the Spirit of God then we’ll be going in different directions. Let us all Bond Together in Christ and that way we can be stronger against the evil one.
