God Knows My Name

Have you ever thought how important a “name” is? Knowing someone’s name is helping that person to feel known, understood, and valued.

God calls us by some very special names, such as beloved, sons and daughters, his heirs, and the apple of His eye. When we accept Christ and embrace his mission, we get a new nickname that reflects his promise and our purpose. Our names reflect our individuality, and to have the same name written in Heaven that was ours on Earth speaks of the continuity between this life and the next. How amazing it is that our name to God is not only for us on this earth but will dwell with us into eternity.

Many characters from the Old and New Testaments were given a new name by Father God when they began living by faith.

A name rooted in spirituality can alter the path of the soul that carries the name.

He knew us, from our mother’s womb. We read this in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

God told Moses in Exodus 33:17 “And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.God also knows us by name and we also can find that grace that God has supplied for us. One of the most important times that our name is to be called by God calls it from the book of life. We can read this in Revelations 20:12.

I can only hope and pray that we all walk diligently upon this earth and when the judgment is upon us, that God knows us by our name and says,

Well done, good and faithful servant.”
