Thou Art Worthy

In the book of Revelation we read, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”  Ch.4:11; also in ch.5:9, “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.”  There can be no doubt about it; God and his Son are worthy of all praise, honor, and glory that we, as their lowly creatures, can give them!

God is worthy of praise for the following reasons:

# 1  Because he created us.  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

# 2  Because he sustains us.  “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Heb.1:3.

# 3 Because he redeems us.  “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”  I Cor.6:19-20.

Now these are 3 powerful reasons to give praise to our God.  Of course if someone could claim exemptions to any of the above areas, they would not be expected to give glory to God, but who would be exempt among men?  Absolutely no one!   Yes indeed God is worthy of Praise.
