Seed Produces After Its Kind

In Luke 8:11, Jesus in explaining the parable of the sower says, "The seed is the word of God." The seed falls upon various kinds of ground, which are the hearts of men. Now there is a very important lesson to be learned from this parable. We understand the principle of reproduction in the plant kingdom. For instance, when we plant potatoes, do we expect to reap corn? Or when we plant tomato seed, do we anticipate harvesting green beans? Oh no, we know that the seed produces after its kind (Gen.1:12). Potato seed produces potatoes, corn seed produces corn, squash seed produces squash. When only the truth of the gospel is taught, the "Pure" seed, what will it produce? Christians, and only Christians! You see it takes a "Hybrid" seed to produce something else. Which "seed," is what Paul describes in Galatians 1:6-9, "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." a perverted gospel. As in the physical realm, the seed produces after its kind, so also in the spiritually realm, seed produces after its own kind. It takes the Bible plus Watchtower Publications to make a Jehovah's Witness. It takes the Bible plus the Methodist Discipline to make a Methodist. It takes the Bible plus church tradition to make a Roman Catholic. It takes the Bible plus the Baptist Church manual to make a Baptist. On and on we could go as illustrations of this point. We plead with our denominational friends to stand on the word of God and it alone. Out of love for our Lord and his words, and our love for those in error we speak on these vital matters. Please do not count us as enemies because we tell you the truth, Galatians 4:16; we want you to be free, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32.
