Holiness

In Hebrews 12:14 we read, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Holiness signifies a separation to God and a separation from the world - the domain of darkness, which Satan is the Prince of. Notice what God’s grace teaches us; "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world." Titus 2:11-12. Holiness demands that we shun the evil, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and holiness also demands that we seek to live right in this world.

A lot of folks are preaching a "cheap" grace, that demands nothing of it’s hearers. God’s grace is costly! It cost God, the life of his Son on the cross, to bring about our redemptionbeloved! And God’s grace teaches us, yea, compels us to live a godly and holy life! Even in Jude’s day men were "turning the grace of God into lasciviousness," Jude 4. Men are saved by grace through faith (Eph.2:8), but real faith that saves, moves men to obey the gospel, and live a life of holiness. 2 Corinthians 7:1, "Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." In passages like Gal.5:19-26; Eph.4:17-5:12; Col.3:1-16, we have a list of some of the "filthy" garments that need to be cast aside, and the wonderful fruits of righteousness and holiness that is to be put on. So few are willing to walk the highway of holiness, Isaiah 35:8, "And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein." What about you, are you willing to walk the way of holiness? It all begins by becoming a Christian, Mt.28;18-20; Mk.16:15-16; Ac.2:36-41. Remember dear friends, without which no man shall see the Lord.
