Selling Ourselves

One night while in Milagro Ecuador, we had finished services about 8:40 or so. After folks went home, Reid, Segundo and myself walked into town to get something to eat. As we were walking back at about 10:00 PM we passed over the small bridge going back to where we were staying. We meet 2 young ladies who were passing out small leaflets, and they gave us all one. It stated ASolicita personal ambos sexos translated: Soliciting personal sexual love. The price on the paper said entrance $300 to the house of ill-repute . I have thought about how cheap we sell ourselves sometimes to do wickedly. 300 dollars in Ecuador, means more than it would in our economy, but is eternal punishment and the loss of a home in heaven worth that little a amount? Would 300 thousand be a good deal to sell ourselves unto the work of sin? Or would 300 million be the right price we would sell our soul to the devil and his work? No, what ever the price it, would be a bad deal. AFor what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Matt.16:26. Our soul is worth more than a few dollars that the devil seems to offer us. But what I am afraid of, is that we sell ourselves too often for less than even 300 dollars. We don't have time to worship the Lord at the appointed time, why? To make a few more dollars, selling ourselves out so cheap at times. We concede to the impulse of the flesh, and curse or bad mouth another to satisfy our hurt pride in seeking revenge, that's selling out pretty cheap looks to me. We hold back giving liberally and cheerfully to the work of the Lord, for what? Just a few extra dollars in our pocket, we sell ourselves for less than 300 dollars. No doubt the prostitutes on the streets of Milagro are doing wickedly, and selling themselves cheap, (the ultimate price is their souls if they don't repent); but we so often sell ourselves out even cheaper, we just do it with more Arespectable forms of sin! The person with their head on straight, sees, to sell ourselves into sin, no matter if it is prostitution or covetousness, sin in any form it is not worth it!
