Unto Dust Shalt Thou Return

In Gen.2:7 we read, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Again in Ps.103:13-14, "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust." These scriptures declare that we are made from the dust of the ground. And this is the scientific truth also, that our bodies are made from the common elements found in the soil about us.

After the fall of man God said, "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Listen to this, "and unto dust shalt thou return." Then in Job 34:15, "All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust." Yes our bodies shall return to the dust of earth. As the wise man also said, "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." Eccl.12:7.  Recently I was reminded of these verses. There were the remains of a baby that died back in 1952, (49 years ago) were moved to the Providence Cemetery.  The wooden box was still partly intact, but the body had completely returned unto dust. Some day all of us will be placed into the ground from whence we came, and in time the body shall return to the dust of the earth. Are you ready to die?  Not just the physical arrangements, but moreover the spiritual implications of dying.  Are you ready to meet God in the day of judgement to give an account of yourself to the Creator?  Are you prepared by obeying the gospel and serving the Lord faithfully?  If not, I beseech you in Christ’s stead be ye reconciled unto God.  Humbly submit to the gospel of Christ, in full assurance of faith and obedience.
