I Don't Know

I was talking with a person recently, and we were talking about John 16:13, where Jesus said, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come." I asked, what I thought, was a simple question: "Were the apostles guided into all truth?" This person wanted to talk about several other things, like, how were these men selected? Or, what exactly do you mean by the Spirit? Or, they asked, were these men perfect? Or, how were they trained. But I kept coming back to that simple question, "Were the apostles guided into all truth?" After 5-6 minutes of discussing back and forth, and persistently asking, "Were the apostles guided into all truth?" The person finally responded by saying, that if you are looking for a yes or no answer to this question, they said, "I don’t know." Does it take a person with an immense IQ to figure out what the Lord said in John 16:13? Do you have to have several college degrees to perceive our Lord’s words here in this text? Would you need to have your dictionary in hand, in order to look up any of the words spoken in that text or in the question asked? Do you think you would have to seek help from an English grammar book, to comprehend either the verse or the question asked? What think ye, how readest thou John 16:13?
