Near-Lawlessness

I was reading an article from a newspaper that one of the members gave me. The headline reads, Despite ban, officials vote not to dismiss homosexual ministers. One man laments within the ranks of the Methodist denomination, that ignoring church laws or acting that these laws don't matter, Aopens the church really to near-lawlessness and moral chaos. 

How folks can seek to justify homosexuality and lesbianism is beyond me! Now let's look at what the Bible plainly teaches on this topic. Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Lev.18:22. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Lev.20:13. Now let's look in the new testament, For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. Rom.1:26-27. Also in I Cor.6:9-10, Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor.6:9-10.

Thus it is abundantly clear from both the old and new testaments, that God condemns homosexuality. It is not near-lawlessness on the part of these Methodist church leaders, it is just out and out lawlessness to dismiss the complaint about these self-avowed and practicing homosexuals. If folks can toss out plain passages of scriptures, they wouldn't accept it, if Paul himself personally preached and proclaimed this message today. Lawless people don't care what God's law teaches, no matter who speaks on the topics he doesn't like. The mystery of lawlessness is alive and well in the hearts of men and women today, 2 Thess.2:3-7.
