Holy Quartet?
I was amazed and saddened once again this past week of the foolishness of the men, to try create a new twist on the erroneous doctrine about "Mary the Mother of God".
It appears our Catholic friends are heading toward a further perversion concerning Mary who was the mother of Jesus. They have already perverted what the Bible teaches about Mary, who indeed was blessed among women; Luke 1:28, "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women." They have called her the "Mother of God" which of course is not true. She is the mother of the "man child", the human side of Jesus, but not his divinity! They claim that she is a co-mediator and that we can pray to her, once again this is not true! There are some now trying to make her a co-redeemer; and to exalted her to the status of being God. Thus instead of a Holy Trinity, we would have the "Holy Quartet", the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and Mary.
Such nonsense as this is utterly crazy, and it is blasphemy to speak of such things! Mary was a very godly and dedicated woman, but as with the rest of humanity she also has "sinned, and come short of the glory of God". It appears from history, that the development of Mary worship has its roots and ties with paganistic worship of various goddesses of Greek mythology. This is another example of where Christianity and pagan religion was mixed together, as exemplified by Christmas and Easter religious celebrations, where Christianity and paganism have been blended together. Not one verse of scripture can be produced to sustain any of this false teaching about Mary. Let us be satisfied to stand within the confines of the word of God.
