Unpacking The Burden of Anxiety
Have you ever dealt with anxiety? Maybe you are going through big life changes like moving to a new place, starting a new job or losing a job, getting married or going through a divorce. Even the joy of having a baby could cause a certain amount of anxiety. Have you found yourself in a stressful situation consisting of money or health problems? Bad Past Experience can also bring on anxiety, such as being hurt or the lost someone close.
Satan loves to distract us with anxiety, by letting negative thoughts enter our mind such as, worry, thinking you're just not good enough or being afraid to fail or being judged by others.
Satan feeds on anxiety and if he can alter our minds and thoughts, he will have control over us. God warns in Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God and (then gives us hope of peace) in verse 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God invites us to cast our anxieties on him, 1 Peter 5:7 — “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
We can decrease our anxiety, only if we train our minds to trust God.
We can see this in Isaiah 26:3 — “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Peace begins where trust in God deepens,
Things I want you to remember: When you go through anxiety God teaches us that we are not alone. Through anxiety God gives you strength you never knew you had. When you go through anxiety, it will make you become more dependent on Him.
If you're anxious today, remember:
-God sees you
-God hears your cries
-God offers peace beyond understanding
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
