The Wonders of God

With the recent eclipse it made me think of the wonders of God, that he has created. We can read about the creator of wonders in Psalm 77:14, Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

What does wonder mean?

It means amazement, awe, marvel, astonishing, surprise, we look but we cannot believe our eyes.

What does wonders of God mean? God’s wonders are supernatural acts that go beyond human understanding. They reveal the limitless power, inescapable presence, divine protection, and sovereign purposes of the one true God.

What were some of the Wonders of God, here are just a few:

  1. “IN THE BEGINNING GOD”-The wonders of Creation Gen. 1
  2.  The miracle of the parting of the Red Sea- Ex.14
  3.  The Rainbow-Gen:9
  4. God delivering the Israelites from the Egyptians through supernatural “signs and wonders:-Deu. 7
  5. The mighty walls of Jericho crumbling to the ground-Joshua 6
  6. Elijah being carried away to heaven-II Kings 2
  7. Jesus's’ death, burial, resurrection- in the Gospels

This list could be endless, God is so amazing at what he has given us to enjoy. The sunrises, sunsets, the birth of a child, the answering of prayers.

We should always give thanks to God’s wonders and give thanks unto him for his mercy endureth forever as we can read in Psalm 136:1-9:

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.

O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth fo ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth forever.

To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth forever.

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ver.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth forever.

To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth forever.

For us to experience Gods wonders we must sanctify ourselves! This can be found in Joshua 3:5 as it reads, And Joshua said to the people, Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. What a blessing we have, that we are so blessed with the wonders of God.

Let us never take them for granted.
