P.E.T.A.
I was listening to the radio the other day in the car and they were talking about a Prince Harry and his friends ordering a meat lovers pizza. There were 2 girls from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) that came trying to convince him to become a vegetarian, not to eat meats. The problem with this group is that they do not have a biblical view of animals in the world we live in. To them animals are equal to humans. They don't see much difference in killing animals and killing people. That fur is obscene to wear, and we all should be vegetarians. Yet God has given man dominion over the lower creation, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. " It is man that is made in the image of God, NOT animals. "And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." I am like a lion or tiger, I like the taste of meat like they do. I don't hear PETA people clamoring for lions and tigers to become vegetarians. Then again what about the "feelings" of the those poor little innocent plants that get slaughtered all the time and consumed by those big bad human beings? A lot of crazy thinking comes from folks who do not see the biblical order of men and animals. Certainly righteous people consider their livestock, as the wise man said, "Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel." Pr.12:10. But eating meats is authorized by God in 1 Tim.4:3-5. And of course being a vegetarian is authorized by God also, Rom.14:1-3. But for me I am in favor of another PETA group, People Eating Tasty Animals.
