Always Alert

I was listening to the news the other day and they were talking about how many of the wild animals in the those places affected by the tsunami escaped unharmed. Some think that they had some sort of sixth senses that caused them to flee. But the more reasonable explanation is that they use their 5 senses in a more keen way, ABy being always alert to their surroundings. Whether is was the sense of hearing, or sense of smell, or they felt vibrations, or whatever, they are very much alert and attune to their surrounding for survival. There is a great spiritual lesson in this.

We need to have our spiritual eyes and ears open to the surrounding in which we live. We need to be AAlways Alert to a couple of very important facts. Jesus can return at anytime. ABut of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. I Thess.5:1-4. Children of God who have their heads on straight know that Jesus could return at anytime, and that we need to be ready whenever that day may come. And if the Lord delays his coming, the child of God know that we can die at anytime. AWhereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14. How many victims who were sweep away by the tsunami waves, were aware that this is the day that I am going to die from a terrible tsunami? None I would be safe in saying. But children of God who are vigilant about the realities of life are AAlways Alert about the these facts and live accordingly. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thiefA As Jesus said ATherefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matt.24:44. Are you ready for the Lord's return?
