The Uncertainties of Life

One of the stark realities of life, is that life is full of uncertainties. We never know what may come across our paths. It is appointed that we shall die, Heb.9:27, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Though we know we are going to die, we do not know how or when it will take place. We never know what will befall us as we travel down the highway of life. Disease, accidents, mishaps, comes a wide variety of shapes forms and sizes. "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." Prov.27:1. Also consider James 4:14, "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." We can be here today and gone tomorrow.

Paul gave us this promise, Phil.4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Riches of this world are uncertain, but we can put our trust in a certain God, 1 Tim.6:17-18, "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;" Yes, life is uncertain, but we can definitely make preparations for death and for that certain day of judgment to come; through Jesus Christ the Lord. Are you making the preparations for death?
