Morning Crew and Evening Crew

I was talking with one of the elderly members one time and Ed was telling about something when he was young, ( I guess about 75 - 80 years ago), about the Providence church. He spoke about the time when they had a "morning crew and evening crew." He was describing a division among the brethren at that time. I've heard F.E. and Roy also speak about that division. I'm thankful that the division was finally settled and the brethren where once again one. Division in the body of Christ is an unseemly thing, it is unholy, it’s unbecoming to the cause of Christ, it is just plain ugly! There shouldn’t have to be a "morning crew and evening crew" in the body of Christ. The psalmist said in, Psalms 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Yes, unity is both a pleasant thing, and a good thing. Of course we could say that division, is both unpleasant, and that it is not good. Jesus prayed for unity among his believers in, John 17:20-21, "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." Paul commanded unity in, 1 Corinthians 1:10, "Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment." I am glad that we've have just one crew among the saints at Providence. I don't think the Bible says, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism, and two crews."
