Dumb and Dangerous

I was driving in the car the other day and they had a public service commercial on underage drinking. They were talking about those under 21 drinking alcoholic beverages. They were describing some of the things that could happen. They said that you might get sick and throw up all over and such. You could possibly endanger the lives of others, as well as that of yourself. After describing several of these things, they made the plea, that underage drinking is Dumb and Dangerous.

Now beloved I couldn't agree more that underage drinking is both dumb and certainly dangerous. No doubt we need try to educate the young on the folly of booze. The wise man said in Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Surely we would want our young folks to grow up wise. In Proverbs 23:29-32, Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. I've never been bitten by a snake, nor stung by a scorpion, but I would say that it hurts, and that it hurts BAD! Even so, there can be much pain from the use of alcohol, from it's bitter consequences. Yes, under age drinking is dumb and dangerous, but it occurs to me, wouldn't any age drinking be dumb and dangerous? Would it not be just as dumb and dangerous for folks over 21 to drink?
