Chaperoned Fornication

Paul in the book of Ephesians teaches us plainly about the sin of fornication. "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience." ch.5:3-6. Notice that Paul said, not to let anyone be deceived with vain words. Talk till you are blue in the face, there is just no way to make fornication right!

When I was in Ohio one time, Norman Midgette related an rather astounding incident that was taking place in Canada when he lived there. He said that the United church of Canada had a "special room" set aside for young couples who "really loved" one another for them to have sex in. That way they could oversee what was going on. I guess we would have to call it "Chaperoned Fornication." I never ceased to be amazed at how foolish men can reason about things. But I guess, when you reject the Bible as the absolute rule of faith, and rely on human wisdom, this is the kinds of things men come up with, "Chaperoned Fornication." Notice Paul said that those who live this kind of life have no inheritance in the kingdom of God. And this means that they can’t go to heaven in this condition. Yes, God’s will is plain on this matter. "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:" IThes.4:3. Now notice, that it says that we should abstain from fornication, not "chaperone" it.
